Free LLMs.txt generator

Build a well-formed llms.txt file that tells AI crawlers where your highest-signal pages live. Enter your site, group your key URLs, and download the file. No account required.

Your llms.txt

Everything runs in your browser, so nothing you type is sent anywhere. Save the output as llms.txt at your site root.

Definition

LLMs.txt points AI crawlers at the right pages.

LLMs.txt is a proposed plain-text standard, the AI-crawler counterpart to robots.txt and sitemap.xml. It speaks to language-model agents instead of search-engine bots.

Instead of making a model crawl your whole site to find the right page, an llms.txt file points it directly at the URLs you want it to read. The file lives at /llms.txt at your site root. The format is minimal: a title, a short description, and grouped Markdown links.

For the full definition, the format spec, and an honest note on adoption, see what is LLMs.txt? in the glossary.

Example

A finished file is short and readable.

A complete llms.txt fits on one screen. Here is Pineprompt's, with sections grouped by importance so a crawler reads the essentials first.

Setup

Three steps to ship it.

Once the file is live, it works for every AI crawler that honors the standard. No code, no build step, no account.

1

Generate the file

Enter your site name, description, and the key URLs you want AI crawlers to read first. Group them by importance.

2

Upload to your root

Save the output as llms.txt and place it at the root of your domain, so it resolves at yoursite.com/llms.txt.

3

Track the impact

Watch whether AI citation behavior improves over time. The downside is essentially zero: a single plain-text file.

Honest take

Adoption is mixed, and the downside is zero.

LLMs.txt is a proposed standard, not a ratified one, and not every AI crawler honors it yet.

Industry experiments through 2025 and 2026 have found modest-to-measurable improvements in AI citation frequency for sites that ship a well-formed manifest, especially newer or smaller sites where the crawler benefits from the guidance.

The downside is essentially zero: a single text file at your root. Ship it, then monitor whether AI citation behavior improves with citation tracking , and adjust as needed.
