Best ChatGPT visibility trackers
A ChatGPT answer has no fixed rank. Here is what a ChatGPT brand tracker should measure, and how the main visibility trackers compare.
A ChatGPT visibility tracker tells you whether ChatGPT names your brand when people ask about your category. It is not a rank tracker. ChatGPT writes an answer, so there is no position one. A good ChatGPT brand tracker runs a fixed set of prompts on a schedule and records mentions, position in the answer, citations and sentiment.
This guide explains what to measure, then compares the main tools. Pineprompt is ours, so it comes first. We have tried to stay fair to the rest.
What a ChatGPT brand tracker should measure
Mentions. Does the answer name you? Record yes or no per run, then calculate a mention rate.
Position. When ChatGPT lists several brands, order matters. Average it over many runs.
Citations and sources. When ChatGPT searches the web it can link to sources. Log your own URLs and the other domains cited. The second list shows where to be present.
Sentiment. Being named is not enough. Note whether you are recommended, listed neutrally or named with a caveat.
Competitors. Track the same prompts for rivals. Share of voice gives your mention rate context.
Repeats. Answers vary between runs. One check tells you little.

The tools
Pineprompt
Pineprompt tracks your prompts daily across eight engines: ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Grok and Copilot. All eight are on every plan.
It records mentions, position, sentiment, citations and sources, and competitors, with share of voice and country and language targeting. There is an MCP server on every plan. The REST API and Looker Studio connection are on Professional and Business. The ChatGPT visibility tracker page has the details.
Best for: teams that want a focused tracker with every engine included. Less suited to: teams that want an SEO suite in the same login.
Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit
Semrush offers AI visibility inside its SEO suite, and its documentation names ChatGPT and Google AI Mode. A fit if you already work in Semrush. See the Semrush comparison.
Ahrefs Brand Radar
Brand Radar is part of Ahrefs. It covers ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Copilot, Gemini and Perplexity, plus Grok, but not Claude. See the Ahrefs Brand Radar comparison.
Otterly.ai
Otterly lists ChatGPT, Google AI Overview, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Copilot and Perplexity. It does not track Claude or Grok, and Gemini and AI Mode are paid add-ons. See the Otterly comparison.
Profound, Peec AI and Scrunch
Profound is an enterprise platform sold through a demo. Peec AI sells additional platforms as add-ons. Scrunch pairs monitoring with site audits. See the comparisons for Profound, Peec AI and Scrunch.
Features change often. Confirm details on each vendor's site.
How to choose
- Which engines are included? ChatGPT is the start, not the end.
- Can you see cited URLs? You need them to act.
- Does it track competitors on the same prompts?
- Can the data leave the tool? Check for an API, MCP server or dashboard connector.
- Can you set country and language?
Common mistakes
Trusting one run. Use repeats.
Changing prompts mid-stream. You lose comparability.
Skipping citations. Without sources you cannot tell what to fix.
Tracking only your brand. Add competitors.
Where to start
Write a fixed prompt set, record a baseline, then change one thing at a time. If you want ChatGPT and seven other engines in one view, try Pineprompt. If a spreadsheet does the job for now, use that. Either way, track answers, not ranks.
Track your brand across every AI platform.
Pineprompt monitors eight AI platforms daily, in the country and language your buyers use. See our methodology for what we capture and how.
