Profound alternatives for AI visibility

Profound is an enterprise agent suite. If you want something self-serve or more focused, here are the alternatives and who each one suits.

Profound is the enterprise end of AI visibility. It tracks AI answers, licenses panel-sourced prompt data, and layers marketing agents on top. Not every team wants that. Some want a tracker they can start today, without a demo and a sales process.

This guide covers alternatives to Profound. Pineprompt is ours, so we say where it is the right pick and where it is not. Competitor facts come from our own comparison pages, reviewed in 2026. Features change, so confirm details with each vendor.

What Profound does well

Be fair first. Profound has real strengths:

  • A broader platform list at the top tier. Its Enterprise plan reaches nine or more platforms, including Meta AI and DeepSeek.
  • Prompt Volumes. Profound licenses data from opted-in consumer panels: hundreds of millions of real consumer queries, broken down by region and demographic. Nobody else in the category ships this dataset. Prompt Volumes refreshes weekly.
  • An agent platform. It sells agents for AEO, content, demand gen, brand and PR, and it is resourced for enterprise procurement after a Series C.

If those matter, Profound is the right tool. The rest of this guide is for teams where they do not.

Why people look elsewhere

  • No self-serve sign-up. Access is through a demo and a sales process.
  • Pricing is not published. Profound's own site does not list it.
  • Narrow entry tiers. Entry tiers track fewer platforms, as little as ChatGPT alone.
  • Enterprise-gated data access. API, SDKs and MCP are part of an enterprise engagement.
  • No public methodology. It is not publicly documented how scores are produced.

Pineprompt

Pineprompt is a self-serve tracker. You create a project and your platforms run daily within the hour.

It tracks eight engines on every plan: ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Grok and Copilot. It records mentions, position, sentiment, citations and competitors, and rolls them up into share of voice. You can target by country and language.

Data goes where you work. The MCP server is on every plan. The REST API and Looker Studio connector are on Professional and Business. The method is published at /methodology.

What it does not do: it ships no marketing agents and does not write articles. It also tracks the prompts you register, not panel-sourced real queries, and it does not cover Meta AI or DeepSeek.

There is no free trial. Look at a sample brand in the public demo, and see /pricing for plans.

Pick Pineprompt if you want a focused tracker live today. Pick Profound if you are buying an enterprise agent platform or you need Prompt Volumes. Full comparison: Pineprompt vs Profound.

Peec AI

Peec is a funded, established tracker with unlimited seats on every plan. Its MCP server connects Claude, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf and more, and it has a Customer API too. It refreshes daily on all paid tiers.

The catch is platforms. The base plan covers three, and others, Claude among them, are paid add-ons billed per platform.

Pick Peec if you have a large team or agency and want a mature ecosystem. See Pineprompt vs Peec.ai, and our guide to Peec AI alternatives.

AthenaHQ

AthenaHQ is self-serve, with eight platforms on its Self-Serve plan and more on request. It offers native connectors for GA4, Search Console, Shopify, Webflow and Framer, an agentic copilot and a citation-probability model.

Usage is credit-metered, with one credit per response. The API is Enterprise-only, and daily refresh is an Enterprise feature. Below that, cadence is slower.

Pick AthenaHQ if you want turnkey connectors and a copilot without an enterprise contract. See Pineprompt vs AthenaHQ.

Promptwatch

Promptwatch is a wide tool. One subscription watches AI crawler logs and AI-referred visitors, writes articles, and lists nine platforms including DeepSeek. Refresh is daily on Essential. Its methodology is not published.

Pick Promptwatch if you want tracking, crawler data and content in one place. See Pineprompt vs Promptwatch.

Scrunch

Scrunch is closest to Profound in spirit. Beyond monitoring it offers site audits, page optimizations, AI agent traffic analysis and agent-optimized pages (AXP). Its core plan lists four platforms: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Copilot. Looker Studio, API and MCP sit on Enterprise. There is a free trial, and Slack support at enterprise level.

Pick Scrunch if you want optimization work next to the tracking. See Pineprompt vs Scrunch.

Rankscale

Rankscale is credit-based, with Essentials, Pro, Growth and Enterprise tiers. It lists 17+ engines on every plan, which is more than Profound's entry tiers and more than Pineprompt. It adds page audits, shopping visibility and query fanouts. Its REST API is listed at Enterprise.

Pick Rankscale if engine count is your top criterion. See Pineprompt vs Rankscale.

Goodie

Goodie combines tracking with optimization actions, a content studio, agentic commerce tools, and analytics and attribution. Core lists five core models. Higher plans go up to 13. Enterprise is by demo. Core has a 7-day free trial.

Pick Goodie if you want to act on findings in the same product. See Pineprompt vs Goodie.

How to choose

| If you need | Look at | | --- | --- | | Live today, every engine, no sales call | Pineprompt | | Panel-sourced prompt data, Meta AI, DeepSeek | Profound | | Connectors and a copilot | AthenaHQ | | Tracking plus crawler logs and writing | Promptwatch | | Optimization in the same product | Scrunch or Goodie | | The longest engine list | Rankscale | | Large team, unlimited seats | Peec AI |

Before you commit, check three things. First, which platforms your buyers use, and whether they are in the base plan. Second, which tier unlocks API and MCP access. Third, whether the vendor documents how it measures. Refresh rate, sources and limits should be on a public page.

A note on pricing and trials

None of these pages list prices here, because they change. Pineprompt's plans are on /pricing. Profound does not publish pricing on its own site, so you will need a sales conversation to get a number. Scrunch and Goodie offer free trials. Pineprompt does not, which is why we keep the demo open to everyone.

Which engines matter for your category

Engine count is easy to compare and easy to over-weight. A longer list only helps if your buyers use those engines. For most software and services categories, the core set is ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Copilot. Claude and Grok matter more in technical and developer audiences. Meta AI and DeepSeek matter if your market is international or your buyers are technical in particular regions.

Start by asking sales or support teams which assistants customers mention. Then pick the tool whose base plan covers them, not the one with the longest list on its homepage.

Moving from Profound

Export your tracked prompts from Profound as a CSV. Create a Pineprompt project and register your brand, competitors, country and language. Paste the prompts in, or script it through the API on Professional and Business. Enable your platforms. Run both tools for a week, confirm the numbers line up, then cut over.
