Key metrics
Visibility
Visibility is the percentage of responses that mention your brand at least once. It is the headline metric on your dashboard because it answers the most basic question first: when the platforms answer the questions you care about, do you appear at all?
How it is computed
For the set of responses matching the active filter, Pineprompt counts the responses in which the brand is mentioned at least once and divides by the total number of responses.
visibility = round(responses mentioning the brand / total responses × 100)
The result is a whole number from 0 to 100. A response counts once no matter how many times the brand appears inside it, so an answer that names you five times moves visibility exactly as much as an answer that names you once. When the filter matches no responses at all, visibility is 0.
What counts as a mention
A brand is mentioned when its display name, or one of its aliases, appears verbatim in the answer text. Pineprompt does not infer a mention from a description that never names you, so an answer that clearly alludes to your product without naming it does not count. This makes the metric conservative and reproducible: you may open any response and find the name in the text. It also means your aliases matter; a missing spelling variant shows up directly as missing visibility.
Interpreting movement
Visibility moves when the platforms change their answers, but it also moves when you change what you measure. Before reading a jump or a drop as a market shift, you should check whether prompts were added or deactivated, whether a platform was added to a monitor, and whether the active filter changed. A new batch of category prompts where you are not yet mentioned will lower project-wide visibility without anything having changed in the platforms.
Typically, the most actionable view is visibility per platform and per tag. An platform where your visibility trails the others tells you where to focus, and the citations of that platform's answers tell you which pages are shaping them.
Where it appears
Visibility is the hero number on the project overview, together with its change against the previous period. It is also charted over time, and the brand table lists it for your own brand and every tracked competitor, so you may compare appearance rates across the whole competitive set.
