Organizations
An organization is the top of the Pineprompt hierarchy. It holds the subscription, the team members, the API keys, and the projects, and every quota on your plan is counted at the organization level.
The hierarchy
The structure has two levels. An organization owns one or more projects, and each project owns its monitors, prompts, brands, tags, and data. Team members belong to the organization and may access all of its projects; there is no per-project membership.
- Organization
- The billing entity. Holds the subscription, the members, the API keys, and the projects. See billing and members and roles.
- Project
- A single brand or site under monitoring, with its own dashboard and its own data.
One organization or several
Your first organization is created automatically when you sign up, and a single organization is the right shape for most teams: one subscription, one team, several projects. You may belong to several organizations, and sometimes you may wish to; an agency typically runs one organization per client so that each client's billing, team access, and quotas stay separate. Because membership grants access to every project in the organization, separate organizations are also the boundary to reach for when two groups of people must not see each other's data.
Switching context
The organization and project you are working in are part of the page you are on, and the app's navigation lets you move between the organizations you belong to and the projects they contain. Every screen shows one project's data at a time.
Deleting an organization
Deleting an organization removes its projects and everything inside them, and only the organization's owner may do it. As with projects, this is not reversible, so you should export anything you need through the API first.
