Understanding results
Responses
A response is the atomic unit of your data: one answer, from one platform, to one prompt, on one day. Every metric on your dashboard is an aggregation over responses, so when a number surprises you, reading the underlying responses is how you find out why.
What a response contains
- The answer text
- The full text the platform returned, exactly as a user would have received it.
- The context of the run
- The prompt as it was asked, the platform and model that answered, and the country and language of the monitor that ran it.
- Timing
- The day the prompt was submitted and the moment the platform answered.
- Search queries
- For platforms that browse the web before answering, the search queries the platform issued. These reveal how the platform translated your prompt into a search.
- Citations
- The URLs the platform referenced, each with its title and rank. See sources.
- Brand mentions
- Every tracked or discovered brand found in the answer, each with its position and sentiment score. See brand mentions.
How responses are collected and analyzed
Each active prompt is asked once per day on every platform its monitor covers, as described on the monitors page. Shortly after a response arrives, Pineprompt analyzes its text to detect brand mentions and score their sentiment. A response only feeds your metrics once this analysis has completed, so a freshly collected answer may take a short while to appear in the charts.
Platforms are not deterministic: the same prompt on the same platform may produce a different answer tomorrow. This is precisely why Pineprompt samples daily rather than once, and why the metrics are presented as trends. A single response is an anecdote; thirty days of responses are a measurement.
Reading responses in the app
The project overview shows the latest analyzed responses, each with its mentions and citations, and honors the active filter so you may narrow the feed to one platform, monitor, tag, or country. Note that this feed always shows the most recent responses regardless of the selected date range; the date range applies to the charts and tables above it.
Next steps
The mentions found inside each response are where the metrics come from, and the brand mentions page explains exactly how they are detected and scored.
