Monitors
A monitor is a configured run. It binds the prompts in your project to one or more AI platforms, in a chosen country and language, and Pineprompt runs it on your behalf every day.
Configuring a monitor
A monitor has four settings.
- Platforms
- The AI platforms the monitor queries. Pineprompt covers eight platforms: ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Google AI Overview, Google AI Mode, Grok, and Microsoft Copilot. You may select any combination.
- Country
- The country the platforms are queried from. Many platforms localize their answers, so you should pick the country your buyers are actually in.
- Language
- The language the prompts are asked in. Prompts run exactly as you wrote them, so the language setting should match the language of the prompts themselves.
- Active
- Whether the monitor runs. An inactive monitor collects nothing but keeps its configuration and history.
Sometimes you may wish to track the same prompts in two markets. In that case you should create two monitors, one per country and language pair, and compare them side by side using the filter bar.
The daily run
Each active prompt in a monitor is asked once per day on every platform the monitor covers. So a monitor with 10 active prompts and 4 platforms collects 40 responses per day. Runs are spread throughout the day rather than fired at a fixed hour, and once a prompt has been answered by a platform on a given day, it will not run again on that platform until the next day.
Data collection requires three things: the monitor is active, the project has at least one active prompt, and the project's onboarding is complete. If any of these is missing, the monitor is skipped without consuming any of your monthly response quota.
Monitors and your plan
The number of monitors you may create, and the number of responses you may collect per month, are determined by your organization's plan. Each response a platform returns counts as one response against the monthly quota, so you may estimate your usage as active prompts, multiplied by selected platforms, multiplied by roughly thirty days. Pausing a monitor
Deactivating a monitor stops data collection immediately while keeping every response it has already gathered. Your charts simply stop advancing until you reactivate it. This is the right tool when you would like to free up quota for another monitor without losing history.
