Best Profound alternatives in 2026
Profound is built for enterprise teams and sold through a demo. If that is not how you want to buy, here are seven other AI visibility tools and who each one fits.
Profound is one of the best-known tools for tracking how AI assistants talk about your brand. It is also an enterprise product: you reach it through a demo and a sales process, and the full engine list sits on the top tier. That suits some teams well. For others it is the reason to look around.
This guide lists seven tools worth considering instead. Each entry says what the tool is, who it fits and which engines it covers. The facts come from our own compare pages, which we checked against each vendor's public pages. Vendors change things, so confirm details before you buy.
Why people look for Profound alternatives
The reasons we see most often:
- Buying process. Profound is sold through a demo and a sales process. Teams that want to sign up and start the same day look for a self-serve option.
- Entry tiers are narrower. Profound lists nine or more platforms on its full Enterprise tier, while entry tiers cover fewer.
- API access is sales-led. The API, SDKs and MCP server are offered at the Enterprise level.
- Methodology. Profound does not publicly document its methodology. Some teams want refresh rates, sources and limits written down.
- Scope. Some teams want a focused tracker. Others want a tool that also does content or SEO work.
None of this makes Profound a bad choice. If you are an enterprise team that wants an agent platform, or you want its panel-sourced Prompt Volumes data, or you need Meta AI and DeepSeek at the top tier, it is a reasonable fit. The rest of this guide is for everyone else.
1. Pineprompt
Pineprompt is a self-serve AI visibility tracker. It tracks all eight engines on every plan, with no per-platform add-ons, and refreshes every prompt daily. Each answer is scored on five signals, and competitor discovery is included. The refresh rate, sources and limits are published.
The MCP server is on every plan. The REST API and Looker Studio connector come with the Professional and Business plans. Country and language are set per monitor. Plans allow 50 to 350 tracked prompts.
Fits: teams that want to start today without a sales call, want every engine from the entry plan (Claude and Grok included), and want data they can pull into their own tools.
Limits: Pineprompt is a monitoring tool. It has no site audits, content tools or optimization features. There is no free trial. If you need Meta AI or DeepSeek, look elsewhere. See the full comparison with Profound and the pricing page.
2. Peec.ai
Peec starts from a three-platform base plan and sells more platforms as paid add-ons, billed per platform. Claude is one of those add-ons. Refresh is daily on all paid tiers. It has an MCP server and a Customer API, and country and language scoping covers one to three regions depending on tier.
Fits: large teams and agencies that want unlimited seats, an established MCP and partner ecosystem, and a funded vendor with a long reference list, and that are fine adding platforms one at a time.
Engines: three on the base plan, more as add-ons. Read the Pineprompt vs Peec.ai comparison.
3. AthenaHQ
AthenaHQ tracks the same eight platforms as Pineprompt on its Self-Serve plan, with more on request. Usage is metered in credits, where one credit is one response. The API and daily refresh are on the Enterprise tier, and multi-region tracking is Enterprise too. It ships native connectors for GA4, Search Console, Shopify, Webflow and Framer, plus an agentic copilot and a citation-probability model.
Fits: teams that want turnkey connectors and are comfortable with credit-metered usage.
Engines: eight. See Pineprompt vs AthenaHQ.
4. Otterly.ai
Otterly names six platforms. Gemini and Google AI Mode are paid add-ons, and it does not track Claude or Grok. Prompts refresh daily but citations refresh weekly, and there is no public API. It offers a native one-click Looker Studio connector, broad geographic coverage and a lighter entry tier.
Fits: teams testing a category on a smaller budget who do not need Claude or Grok.
Engines: six named. Compare in detail at Pineprompt vs Otterly.ai.
5. Promptwatch
Promptwatch bundles AI tracking with crawler logs, visitor analytics and an article generator. It lists nine platforms, including DeepSeek. The API, MCP server and Looker Studio connector are available. Daily refresh is stated on the Essential plan; above that it says "real-time" without further detail, and its methodology is not published.
Fits: teams that want one subscription covering tracking, AI crawler activity, AI-referred visitors and content. It is the wider tool.
Engines: nine. See Pineprompt vs Promptwatch.
6. Scrunch
Scrunch combines monitoring with site audits, page optimizations, AI agent traffic analysis and agent-optimized pages (AXP). The Core plan lists four engines: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Copilot, with 125 tracked prompts. Claude, Gemini, Grok and AI Mode are listed on the custom-priced Enterprise plan, along with Looker Studio, API and MCP access. Core has a 7-day free trial.
Fits: teams that want to act on findings inside the same product, not only measure them.
Engines: four on Core, more on Enterprise. See Pineprompt vs Scrunch.
7. Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit
The toolkit sits inside Semrush, the broader SEO suite. Semrush's documentation names Google AI Mode and ChatGPT, and the pages we checked do not list every engine. It tracks 25 prompts in the toolkit, and Semrush One lists 50, 100 or 200. Prompt tracking is daily, with country targeting across 220+ countries and territories. It includes an AI Search Site Audit, reporting and CSV exports. Semrush states there is no free trial for this toolkit.
Fits: teams already using Semrush for SEO who want AI visibility in the same account.
Engines: not fully listed. See Pineprompt vs Semrush.
Other tools worth a look
If none of the above fits, these are also covered in our compare section:
- Goodie is a full-stack platform for research, monitoring, optimization and revenue measurement. Core lists five models and Pro lists eight. There is a 7-day free trial on Core. (comparison)
- Rankscale is credit-based and lists 17+ engines on every plan, with page audits and shopping visibility. (comparison)
- SE Visible is from the SE Ranking family. It lists ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, AI Mode and AI Overviews, with Claude marked as coming soon, plus unlimited users and a 10-day free trial. (comparison)
- Ahrefs Brand Radar sits inside Ahrefs and lists seven AI surfaces. It does not track Claude. (comparison)
How to choose
Start with how you want to buy. If a demo and sales process is fine, Profound and Scrunch's Enterprise plan are options. If you want to start today, look at the self-serve tools.
Then check engines. List the assistants your customers use and confirm each is covered on the plan you would actually buy, not only on the top tier. Several tools above cover fewer engines on entry plans.
Then decide if you want measurement or action. A focused tracker is simpler and often cheaper. A suite with audits and content tools can save you a second subscription if you will use those features.
Finally, check data access. If you want numbers in your own warehouse or dashboards, confirm which plan includes the API and whether it matches the dashboard.
Where Pineprompt fits
Pineprompt is the right call when you want a tracker and nothing else: every engine from the first plan, daily runs, published methodology, an MCP server on every plan and an API on the higher plans. It is the wrong call if you want a free trial, content tools or Meta AI and DeepSeek coverage. See the pricing page for plan details.

Pineprompt monitors eight AI platforms daily, in the country and language your buyers use. See our methodology for what we capture and how.
