Peec AI vs Profound vs Promptwatch
Peec AI, Profound and Promptwatch all track brands in AI answers, but they are built for different buyers. Here is how they differ and which to pick.
Is Peec AI better than Promptwatch, and how does either compare with Profound? There is no single winner, because the three tools aim at different jobs. Peec AI is a focused analytics tool for marketing teams. Promptwatch combines tracking with crawler monitoring and content agents. Profound positions itself as an AI marketing platform with an enterprise focus. The right choice depends on whether you want measurement, a wider toolkit or a managed enterprise platform. For Google's conversational search specifically, see our comparison of AI Mode tracking tools.
This comparison draws on each vendor's public website as we read it in October 2026, plus our own compare pages. Vendors change their products often, so confirm details with them before you buy. We have left out prices on purpose, because they change and are best read on each vendor's own pricing page.
The three tools in brief
Peec AI describes itself as AI search analytics for marketing teams. It tracks visibility, position and sentiment for the prompts you add, and it shows which sources AI answers cite. Its pricing page lists daily tracking on each model you select.
Profound describes itself as an AI marketing platform. Alongside visibility tracking (Answer Engine Insights and Citation Analytics), it offers Prompt Volumes, a view of what people ask AI, and an AI Marketer that drafts and stages content for approval. Its pricing page lists a free trial and a custom Enterprise plan sold through a demo.
Promptwatch describes itself as an AI search visibility and GEO platform. It reports visibility, share of voice and position, and adds AI crawler monitoring, AI-referred traffic analytics and content agents that draft articles. It offers both a demo and a free trial.
Engines covered
Engine coverage is where the three differ most, and where public information is thinnest. The differences are in how many engines you get and how you choose them.
Peec AI's pricing page shows self-serve plans where you choose three models, with a choice from all models on Enterprise. Promptwatch's pricing page says every plan tracks all models, and lists ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Microsoft Copilot, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, Meta Llama, DeepSeek and Mistral among others. Profound's pricing page lists ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews on its free trial, and adds Perplexity, Google AI Mode, Microsoft Copilot, DeepSeek, Claude and Exa Search on Enterprise.
Data captured
Peec AI centres on three metrics, visibility, position and sentiment, and adds source tracking that separates content the AI used from URLs it cited.
Profound's differentiator is Prompt Volumes, which it presents as analysis of real user conversations. If you want to know what people ask before you decide which prompts to track, that is its clearest strength.
Promptwatch reports visibility, share of voice and position, and it puts weight on the website side. It combines AI crawler logs, citations and clicks per topic, so you can see which agents visit your pages, not only what the models say.
Integrations and API
Peec AI's pricing page lists a Looker Studio integration, API access and MCP. Promptwatch lists MCP and API access on every plan, and integrations with Cloudflare, Vercel, WordPress, Webflow, Google Search Console and Slack. Profound's pricing page lists API access on Enterprise but not on the free trial; we could not confirm MCP availability from its public pages.
Which to pick
- You want a focused analytics tool for a marketing team: Peec AI. The metrics are simple, tracking is daily and it lists Looker Studio, API and MCP options.
- You want tracking plus the rest of the workflow in one subscription: Promptwatch. Crawler logs, traffic analytics and content agents are part of the product.
- You are an enterprise team that wants a managed platform and prompt demand data: Profound. You can start on its free trial, but the full engine list and API sit on the demo-led Enterprise plan.
- You mostly need to report AI visibility to clients or leadership: Peec AI's Looker Studio connector and Promptwatch's integrations are both worth testing.
- You care most about content production inside the same tool: Promptwatch or Profound, depending on how much of the work you want an agent to do.
Where Pineprompt fits
Pineprompt is a tracker and nothing else. It runs daily on six live AI platforms: ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode and Copilot. Grok and Perplexity are listed but temporarily unavailable. Each monitor covers one country and one language, and it records mentions, position, sentiment, citations and share of voice, with competitor discovery. The MCP server is on every plan, and the API and Looker Studio connector are on Professional and Business.
That makes it closest to Peec AI in scope. It is a poor fit if you want crawler logs, traffic analytics or content generation in the same tool, because it does not do those things. If you want a tracker and a short setup, see the Pineprompt vs Peec.ai, Pineprompt vs Profound and Pineprompt vs Promptwatch pages, or read the pricing page.
How to decide
Start from the job, not the feature list. Write down the five to ten prompts that matter to your business and the countries you sell in. Then check, for each tool, whether it covers the engines you care about, whether it can scope to your market, and how you will get the data out. Where a detail is not public, ask the vendor in writing before you buy.
