E-E-A-T in AI Search

Google's Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness framework, and how it relates to being cited by AI.

In one sentence

E-E-A-T stands for experience, expertise, authoritativeness and trustworthiness. It is a framework from Google's quality guidelines, and a useful lens for what AI search tends to cite.

What it means

E-E-A-T is not a ranking factor you can score, and it is not a switch inside AI products. It describes the qualities Google asks its quality raters to look for. Other AI systems publish no equivalent, so treat it as a practical checklist and not as a rule any engine is known to apply.

What the checklist gets right is that answer engines need sources they can trust. Pages with named authors, first-hand detail, clear sourcing and a real organization behind them are easier to rely on than anonymous, generic ones.

What to do about it

Show who wrote the page and why they know the subject. Include original data, screenshots or examples where you have them. Cite your sources. Keep facts current and dated. Build independent mentions from reputable sites, because entity recognition and third-party corroboration are what a model can verify.

How Pineprompt measures it

Pineprompt does not score E-E-A-T. It shows which of your pages, and which third-party sites, are cited for your prompts, so you can see which kind of source wins. See citation tracking.
